Fleckney School Site

Located in the picturesque Leicestershire village of Fleckney, our original school site provides a calm, welcoming environment for learning. Fleckney is a thriving rural village situated approximately 10 miles south-east of Leicester, offering the benefits of a close-knit community while remaining easily accessible from the surrounding areas.

The Lady Byron School first opened its doors in Fleckney in 2021, welcoming students aged 10–17. Since then, the school has grown thoughtfully and sustainably, developing into a nurturing learning community for up to 28 students across five purpose-designed classrooms.

As our school has expanded to cater for students aged 5–17, with the opening of our Market Harborough school site, we have begun to extend our provision for younger children. This expansion is being introduced gradually to ensure that every student benefits from an appropriate peer group and the high-quality educational experience they deserve.

Our focus is initially on developing our Key Stage 2 provision, carefully building each year group over time. At present, our youngest students at the Fleckney school site are in Year 6, with additional lower year groups being introduced gradually as our school community continues to grow.

Students remain at the Fleckney school site throughout Key Stage 2 and, depending on their individual educational pathway, transition to our Market Harborough school site during Key Stage 3 or Key Stage 4. There, they continue their learning through a personalised curriculum leading to GCSEs, Functional Skills, NCFE vocational qualifications and ASDAN programmes, ensuring every student is supported to achieve qualifications that reflect their strengths, aspirations and future goals.

Small class sizes, highly skilled staff, and our therapeutic approach, underpinned by THRIVE, PACE and trauma-informed practice, ensure that every student is known as an individual. Our Fleckney school site provides a safe, supportive environment where students can develop academically, socially and emotionally, building the confidence, resilience and independence they need for the next stage of their education and beyond.

Market Harborough School Site

Located in the thriving market town of Market Harborough, Leicestershire, our Market Harborough school site provides a welcoming learning environment for students. The town offers excellent transport links, a vibrant community, and a range of opportunities that enhance learning beyond the classroom, helping students develop independence and prepare for life beyond school.

Our Market Harborough school site opened in 2026 as part of The Lady Byron School’s planned expansion, enabling us to extend our specialist provision while maintaining the small class sizes and personalised approach that are central to our ethos.

The site currently provides education for students in Year 7 and above, with all Key Stage 4 students (Years 10 and 11) educated at Market Harborough. This creates a learning environment that is tailored to the academic, social and emotional needs of older students as they prepare for qualifications, further education, employment and adulthood.

Students benefit from our broad and balanced curriculum, specialist teaching, and therapeutic approach, underpinned by THRIVE, PACE and trauma-informed practice. Alongside academic learning, students are supported to develop confidence, resilience, independence and the skills they need to achieve positive outcomes beyond school.

We recognise that every young person has their own strengths, aspirations and learning pathway. As a result, students have access to a range of accredited qualifications, including GCSEs, Functional Skills, NCFE vocational qualifications and ASDAN programmes, enabling them to work towards meaningful outcomes that reflect their individual abilities, interests and future goals. Our personalised approach ensures that every student has the opportunity to experience success and leave school with qualifications that support their next steps.

As with all Lady Byron School sites, classes remain intentionally small, allowing staff to build strong, trusting relationships with every student and provide highly individualised support. Our Market Harborough school site reflects our commitment to creating an environment where every young person feels safe, valued and able to flourish, living our motto of Different Minds, Endless Possibilities.

Blaby School Site

Located in Blaby, just south of Leicester, our newest school site represents an exciting next step in the continued growth of The Lady Byron School. Situated within easy reach of major transport links, the site will provide an inspiring learning environment designed to support students as they prepare for adulthood, further education and employment.

Opening soon, the Blaby school site will focus on students following a vocational educational pathway, providing opportunities to develop practical skills alongside the personal qualities needed for successful and independent adult lives.

As our provision continues to develop, we are introducing an expanded range of vocational learning experiences and accredited qualifications, enabling students to explore career interests while gaining valuable, real-world skills. Planned opportunities include areas such as construction and bricklaying, hair and beauty, hospitality and catering, horticulture, animal care, enterprise and employability, alongside a range of other vocational pathways as our curriculum grows.

Students will continue to benefit from The Lady Byron School’s therapeutic approach, underpinned by THRIVE, PACE and trauma-informed practice, ensuring that emotional wellbeing remains at the heart of learning. Small class sizes, personalised support and strong relationships with staff will enable every young person to develop confidence, resilience and independence while working towards meaningful qualifications and future aspirations.

Our vision for the Blaby school site is to create an environment where students can discover their strengths, gain recognised vocational qualifications, develop employability skills and build the confidence to take their next steps into further education, apprenticeships or the workplace. By combining high-quality specialist education with practical, hands-on learning, we will continue to ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive and fulfil our motto: Different Minds, Endless Possibilities.
